- Survey found that football was voted the world's friendliest sport.
- 50% of people who learn a new language are motivated by an interest in other cultures.
- Olympics presents a fantastic opportunity to meet international visitors.
- London is viewed as a friendly place, but 70% felt more cultural understanding would increase the city's welcoming factor.
- The ability to speak another language makes visitors feel more at home when travelling from abroad.
Quotations
Sylke Riester, Managing Director Europe at Rosetta Stone commented:
" The Olympics shows that people from all over the world share common interests and dreams, so we shouldn't let language be an obstacle to meeting new people and engaging with visitors. Rosetta Stone allows you to learn a new language so that you can go out into the world and speak with confidence. With providing language learning access for a mobile device like a smartphone or a tablet it will fit peoples lives, whilst also preparing to reach out and engage with others in a new language."
